Harlyn Bay is a wonderful crescent of fine sandy beach with blue slate headlands;
rock pools & coves to explore and mile upon mile of scenic cliff top walks along
the (fairly level) coastal path, linking this unspoiled "7 bays for 7 days" area
in both directions - N. to Stepper point and on to the Camel Estuary and Padstow,
5m - or S. to Trevose Head; the new stylish lifeboat station; lighthouse and championship
golf links and on eventually to Bedruthan Steps and down to Newquay (15 miles down
the coast road!)
Harlyn Bay is renowned for safe bathing & good surfing conditions - especially in
September with the refreshing and quite spectacular high tides!
St. Merryn - 1 mile away is our local village metropolis - with garage; post office;
newsagents; surf/beach shops; bakery/deli; grocers; tearooms;
bistros; fish 'n 'chips; 'Doghouse' wine bar; two Pubs - the 'Farmers' and the 'Cornish'
Arms(now in the hands of Mr. Stein..) & situated across from our beautiful 750+ years
in '09 Medieval Church (with coffee morning on Tuesdays in summer!)
